GHOST FISHING GEAR IS CHOKING OUR OCEANS.

Discarded ‘ghost’ fishing gear is one of the largest sources of plastic pollution in our oceans, but right now, commercial fishing companies are getting off the hook and not being held to account for their part in this crisis.

Ghost fishing gear snares and kills ocean creatures for decades after originally intended, entangling ocean creatures and causing devastating injury and death. Even when this gear breaks down into smaller pieces, it continues to kill through ingestion.
