Ban Deep Sea Mining
The deep sea is a treasure of biodiversity and home to untold wonders and possibilities. New discoveries about the deep sea are being uncovered all the time.
Right now, mining companies from around the world are trying to plunder these pristine ocean depths, desperate to exploit the deep waters of the Pacific and the Arctic and developing technologies to exploit the seafloor.
But we can stop them before it’s too late.
Acting now will keep the lid on this destructive industry, preserving the health of the ocean and people’s way of life.
The calls across the world to halt deep sea mining before it starts are growing. The New Zealand Government has heard our call and come out in support of a conditional moratorium.
This highlights the power of our campaign but we need to see stronger action. Join our call on the New Zealand government to strengthen that position by backing a global ban on deep sea mining.
